Cooking Corner: No Bake Oreo Desert

No Bake Oreo Desert
**A limited number of packs of Oreos are available in the office if you need them to make the dessert. Call 828.245.1390, ext. 5 and ask for Carrie **
Ingredients:
- 1 pack of Oreos
- Butter: ½ a cup melted
- 8 ounces of Cream Cheese
- 1 cup of Powdered Sugar (if desired)
- 8 ounce tub of Cool Whip
- 1 box of Instant Chocolate pudding
- 3 cups of Milk
Steps:
- Place Oreos in a large Ziplock bag and crush them until they are in small crunchy pieces. Set aside ½ cup for the topping. Put the remaining crumbs in a 9 X 13 pan. Use a fork to mash up bigger chunks if desired. Pour the melted butter over the top of the crumbs in the pan and use a fork to combine until all the crumbs are moistened. Place in the fridge while you prepare the next layer.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese on medium speed until it is light and fluffy (should take about 3 minutes). Reduce the mixer speed to medium-low and gradually add the powdered sugar until both are mixed together well.
- Use a spoon or spatula to mix in the cool whip with the cream cheese and powdered sugar mixture from step 2.
- Spread a layer of the Cool Whip, cream cheese and powdered sugar mixture on top of the refrigerated Oreos from step 1.
- In another bowl, mix together the instant pudding and mix. Mix for roughly 2 minutes.
- Use a spatula or spoon to spread the pudding mixture on top of the Cool Whip, cream cheese layer from step 4.
- Spread the remaining Cool Whip on top of the pudding layer and then sprinkle the remaining Oreo crumbs to finish the dessert.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) before serving.
- Take a picture of your finished dessert and send it to 828-223-6598 to share your Oreo Dessert Masterpiece!
Until Next Time: Thoughts from the Executive Director
Hi, All
As we move into the summer months, I would like to encourage everyone to take pride in our community and the place we call home. A clean, safe, and welcoming neighborhood benefits all of us and helps create an environment we can be proud of for ourselves, our families, and our visitors.
Please remember to properly dispose of trash, pick up personal items and toys when not in use, and help keep common areas neat and orderly. When everyone does their part, it makes a big difference in the appearance of our property and the quality of life for all residents.
We appreciate the many residents who already take great care of their homes and surroundings, and we encourage everyone to work together to keep our community clean, respectful, and enjoyable for all.
